A ‘pixel a day’ style diary to record mood and other aspects to keep track of mental health
Mental health is something of a passionate subject to me. So many suffer in silence due to stigma that they are unstable. When counselling only happens once a month for some people it can be hard to remember the breakdowns and the low points that have hit you in-between sessions. Especially when you go to a session and you’re having a good day. It’s hard to remember why you sometimes need to ask for help.
A Pixel A Day is a reimagining of something that many bullet journals show. Every day you fill in a colour with how your mood has been. Not everyone is creative in that way with their hands, or wants to have a book and the pressure of making the page look “pretty” like in all the pictures. Or they forget to fill in it for three weeks and the purpose and the aesthetic is gone.
A Pixel A Day is a iPhone based app which prompts the user once a day, at a time of their choosing, to fill in their mood for that day. The user can also fill in other details such as diet, wellness, sleep and notes. The colours and names of the moods are customisable and the user can scroll through the months and the years and get a clear idea of any pattern in mood swings around dates, memories or changes in hormones. All this would be helpful for tracking and improving mental health.
